Fear is not the only
disability.

A badly designed prosthesis chains you down too.

We design sockets to millimetre precision on your real anatomy. No pressure points. None of the pain of a generic socket. Just autonomy.

What no hospital tells you about cheap prosthetics.

A poor surgery or a badly built socket is not just uncomfortable. It is a risk factor that keeps you from standing up.

Many people assume any artificial limb will do. It will not. If the bone was not perfectly smoothed or the mould is rigid, the skin breaks down and the internal pain stops you putting your own weight on the ground.

An ordinary prosthesis also takes a psychological toll: constant dependence reshapes how you see yourself, leisure disappears and work becomes impossible.

At Ortopre we focus on one thing only: getting your social and working autonomy back with the least possible energy cost.

"Fear is the greatest disability of all."

Specialist technician, Ortopre

Constant physical pain

A badly moulded socket creates pressure points that break the skin of the residual limb, making weight bearing impossible.

Psychological impact

Losing autonomy affects self-perception and creates permanent dependence when the socket does not work.

Social isolation

Giving up work, sport or family gatherings is the direct consequence of walking in pain.

Excessive energy cost

A misaligned socket forces postural compensations that exhaust the patient within a few steps.

From not being able to stand alone to running unaided.

Every step, steadier
Getting the gait back
// Clinical catalogue

Prosthetics designed to give autonomy back

Each type is built around your amputation level and your gait. Components from leading brands, socket made to your measurements.

Transtibial prosthesis
// Below-knee amputation

Transtibial prosthesis

The most common one. Keeping the knee lets the patient recover a natural gait at a lower energy cost and with a steadier step.

Indicated for transtibial amputations caused by diabetes, accidents or vascular disease. The socket is built on a cast of the residual limb for a precise fit.

  • Socket 50% glass fibre / 50% carbon
  • Foot Multiaxial or SACH
  • Liner Medical silicone
Knee disarticulation
// Knee joint amputation

Knee disarticulation

Amputation at the level of the knee joint. The femur is preserved in full, giving a larger load-bearing surface and better control of the prosthesis.

With the femur intact, leverage and distal control are better than in a transfemoral case. The socket encloses the femoral condyle for safe suspension without an extra liner.

  • Socket 50% glass fibre / 50% carbon
  • Knee Mechanical WINWALKER
  • Liner Medical silicone
Transfemoral prosthesis
// Above-knee amputation

Transfemoral prosthesis

Requires a prosthetic knee. From a mechanical WINWALKER to a hydraulic OTTOBOCK depending on the patient’s activity level.

The mechanical knee covers everyday use. For demanding walking or field work, a pneumatic or hydraulic knee restores fluidity and safety.

  • Socket 50% glass fibre / 50% carbon
  • Knee Mechanical WINWALKER
  • Liner Medical silicone
Hip disarticulation
// Hip joint amputation

Hip disarticulation

Amputation at the coxofemoral joint. The pelvis stays intact, which allows a more efficient pelvic socket than in a hemipelvectomy.

The pelvic socket wraps the iliac crest for suspension and control. With the right hip joint, the patient recovers a functional gait with stability across planes.

  • Basket Carbon fibre
  • Hip Joint Hip articulator
  • Knee Mechanical WINWALKER
Syme prosthesis
// Long transtibial amputation

Syme prosthesis

For long amputations from accidents or diabetic foot where almost the whole tibia is preserved and the heel bearing surface remains.

The long residual limb offers more leverage and better distal control. The socket adapts to the characteristic shape of the end for safe suspension.

  • Socket 50% glass fibre / 50% carbon
  • Foot Multiaxial or SACH
  • Liner Medical silicone
Leg-length discrepancy
// Limbs of different lengths

Leg-length discrepancy

The prosthesis acts as a support base that evens out the length of both limbs, removing postural compensations.

Many patients recover their posture and lose chronic back pain they had attributed to other causes for years. Includes a full postural assessment.

  • Assessment Postural included
  • Pre-socket Glass fibre
  • Socket Carbon fibre
Hemipelvectomy
// Loss of 3 joints

Hemipelvectomy

Highly complex. The pelvis controls the whole prosthesis through a hip joint and a custom-built carbon pelvic basket.

Requires advanced clinical experience. The pelvic basket spreads the loads across the trunk and allows sitting, standing and walking with stability.

  • Basket Carbon fibre
  • Hip Joint Hip articulator
  • Knee Mechanical WINWALKER

Prosthetic components

Carbon fibre feet

Multiaxial, SACH and energy-return. We select the foot based on your weight, activity and amputation level.

Medical silicone liners

The interface between the residual limb and the socket. They cushion, protect the skin and spread loads evenly.

Prosthetic accessories

Tubes, connectors, suspension systems and valves. Original spare parts available for every brand we work with.

Mobility aids

Wheelchairs

Manual and transport models. For adaptation periods or permanent use.

Canes and walkers

Progressive support during rehabilitation. We ease the transition to independent walking.

Training bands

To build limb strength and endurance. Essential in the stage before the definitive socket.

-50% on your 2nd socket

Your limb changes. That is biology, not a defect.

In the first months the residual limb loses volume as it matures. That is why the first socket stops fitting: it did not fail, your body changed. The second socket is built on your stabilised anatomy — and we cover 50% of it.
